The Name of The Sun God

The name of the sun god changes accross cultures around the world and in some of these cultures and/or religions, there is more than just one sun god.

The sun is a universal symbol of light, warmth and life, therefore, it played a big role in ancient belief systems. In ancient Egypt, Ra the god of the sun was worshipped as a supreme deity.

He was believed to be the creator of everything in existence and would travel across the sky each day before being swallowed by darkness at night.

In Roman mythology, the sun god known as Sol was worshipped as a supreme deity.
